When We Use Location
FreshDrop uses location information to show nearby cleaners, validate coverage, assign riders, estimate logistics, support handoff confirmations, prevent fraud, and resolve disputes.
Precise GPS should be requested only when the user takes a clear action such as tapping 'Use my current location'. Users may also enter their location manually.
Types of Location Data
Location data may include:
- Selected state, LGA, area, and service address.
- Cleaner base area and service coverage.
- Rider current location or delivery context where enabled.
- GPS coordinates, accuracy radius, and map-derived labels when a user grants permission.
- Order handoff and route context needed to investigate a delivery or complaint.
Controls and Retention
Users can deny browser location permission and use manual location selection. FreshDrop should avoid collecting precise GPS where area-level matching is enough.
Location data should be retained only for service delivery, accounting, security, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
